New Jersey Transit offers a route from Westfield Train Station to Newark Penn Station with a connecting route to New York Penn Station, which takes only 50 minutes. New Jersey Transit also provides bus routes from multiple places in Westfield to Port Authority in Manhattan averaging from 45 minutes to an hour. Another plus if you’re traveling, Newark International Airport is only 20 minutes away from Westfield.

Downtown and Other Historical Attractions

Downtown Westfield offers over 40 restaurants and eateries of all different types and cultures as well as over 200 retail establishments and 400 commercial enterprises. Westfield’s downtown is so intriguing that a few of its landmarks have been featured on NBC’s show, Ed. The Westfield Memorial Library, originally founded in 1873, houses over 250,000 books, a youth services area, and areas for studying. The library also offers computer instruction services, children’s storytime, and classes for both adults and children. Another historic place to visit is the Miller-Cory House Museum, which gives its visitors an idea of what it was like to live during colonial times.

The 44-acre park includes a pond, a picnic area, and nature trails. If you happen to enjoy the beach in the warmer months of the year, Westfield is less than an hour drive from the gorgeous beaches of the Jersey Shore.
